Donate to the Rosie Cabanig Scholarship
From 1999 to 2017, Rosie Cabanig served as a Guidance Tech for Stockton Unified School District. During her time at Edison she was tasked with starting a scholarship program which she oversaw for 16 years.
While at Edison, she helped hundreds of students, especially first-generation college students, learn about higher education, fill out their college applications, and win hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of scholarships.
Ms. Cabanig is the embodiment of someone who could think on the spot and address any roadblock around the higher education process, while treating each student like her own regardless of their upbringing. This is the same criteria we used in selecting winners for the scholarship.
The scholarship competition rewards students who can draw on their life experiences, collaborate with others, and brainstorm innovative solutions. This scholarship emphasizes that life experiences are equally as important as clubs, sports, and grades. We reward students who can think critically, speak up, and come up with actionable recommendations to improve their community, which we feel are vital life skills.
Since 2015, the Viking Future Foundation (VFF) has awarded over $18,000 to over 40 Edison High graduating seniors with the Rosie Cabanig Scholarship. This year, VFF aims to award $2,000 in scholarship funds to deserving students. Your donation is critical for us to reach this goal and relieve the financial burden of college for our future leaders.
100% of all donations are allocated towards funding the Rosie Cabanig Scholarship. VFF is a federally recognized 501c3, so all donations are 100% tax-deductible.
